Plum District Secures $20 Million In Funding

Plum District, a local commerce platform for moms, by moms, has raised $20 million in Series C financing led by General Catalyst Partners. Additional participants include new investors Comcast Ventures and Duke University along with participation from existing investor Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. Additionally, Raul Vazquez, former president and CEO of Walmart.com was named to the board of directors.

The $20 million round, which brings the total funding amount to $30 million, will be used to invest in company growth through geographic expansion, enhanced customer experience as well as continued investment in technology.

Amy Banse, Managing Director & Head of Funds, Comcast Ventures, also joins the Plum District advisory board. In addition, Neil Sequeira, a partner at General Catalyst who has served as a board observer since the previous round of financing, will join the board of directors.

Plum District is currently in 27 markets and employs over 300 mom consultants.
