Plane Crash Kills Micron CEO Steve Appleton

Steve Appleton, memory chip-maker Micron’s chairman and CEO, passed away this morning in a plane accident in Boise. He was 51. “Steve’s passion and energy left an indelible mark on Micron, the Idaho community and the technology industry at large,” read a statement by the Micron Technology board.

Mr. Appleton, a professional stunt pilot and former motocross racer, was the only person aboard the plane, reports the San Francisco Chronicle.
