PayPal And X.commerce Introduces PayPal Access

PayPal and X.commerce has introduced PayPal Access, a new commerce identity system that lets users shop across the Web without having to remember multiple passwords. PayPal Access provides everything consumers and merchants need to create an account and complete a transaction – including user verification, shipping information, and payment details, according to a statement by the company.  Anuj Nayar, Director, Communications with the company writes, “Early feedback has been phenomenal.”

PayPal Access gives consumers the ability to sign up and sign in to participating websites with just their PayPal usernames and passwords. Partners joining the PayPal Access program include social integration provider Gigya, and social identity and user management provider Janrain.

The announcement was made at the X.commerce Innovate Developer Conference. PayPal has more than 100 million accounts in 190 markets worldwide, and is an eBay company.
