Oracle Buys GoAhead

Oracle announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire GoAhead Software. The combination is expected to benefit network equipment providers (NEPs) by providing a more comprehensive and integrated offering that delivers service availability across telecom solutions. GoAhead is a privately held company based in Bellevue Washington, and provides carrier-grade software that speeds time-to-market and reduces costs and risks associated with carrier grade services that need to be always available. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close before the end of 2011. Until the deal closes, each company will continue to operate independently. The size of the deal was not disclosed. You can read Oracle’s statement on the agreement here.
