NuTonomy Completes $16M Series A Funding

NuTonomy, a Cambridge, MA-based company developing software for self-driving cars, has completed a $16 million Series A funding. The investment was led by Highland Capital Partners. Previous investors Fontinalis Partners and Signal Ventures also participated in the round, along with EDBI, the dedicated corporate investment arm of the Singapore Economic Development Board, and Samsung Ventures.

NuTonomy says it will launch an autonomous taxi service commercial offering in 2018. In addition to Singapore, nuTonomy is operating self-driving cars in Michigan and the United Kingdom, where it tests software in partnership with automotive companies like Jaguar Land Rover.
