Nokia Inks Navigation Deal With Six Auto Brands

Nokia’s  Location & Commerce business unit is extending its collaboration with six of the world’s top automotive brands, says the company.  Nokia will now be powering four-out-of-five fully integrated in-dash navigation systems. Nokia’s automotive customers include BMW, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Hyundai, Pioneer and Garmin.

The ‘Connected Car’ concept, which turns the car into a command centre, is something many companies in the industry are pursuing to bring to life.

Nokia’s Location & Commerce business, including NAVTEQ Maps products, the Nokia Location Platform as well as Nokia Maps, aims to build and monetize unique location experiences for mobile products, as well as the navigation industry, the automotive market and government and business solutions.
