[Techtaffy Newsdesk]

NCI, a provider of information technology (IT), engineering, logistics, and professional services and solutions to U.S. Federal Government agencies, has been awarded a prime contract on the U.S. Air Force Design Engineering and Support Program (DESP III). This seven-year contract has a ceiling value of $1.9 billion and may be used by all Air Force and other DoD agencies. NCI is one of 26 companies awarded a DESP III contract.

Managed by the Air Force Materiel Command, DESP III is a follow-on IDIQ to DESP I and DESP II and covers technology insertion, reliability and maintainability, deployability improvements, environmental and safety compliance, depot manufacturing and/or repair process improvements, and information management system and process model development. DESP III directly supports Air Force efforts to operate and maintain legacy platforms through obsolescence mitigation, modernization, and technology insertion.

NCI has been a prime in the DESP program since 2000.
