Monsanto leads investment in bioinformatics company Resson

New Brunswick, Canada-based bioinformatics and predictive analytics company Resson has raised a $11 million Series B funding round. Monsanto, through its venture capital arm Monsanto Growth Ventures, led the investment. Other investors in Resson’s Series B round include Build Ventures, Rho Canada Ventures, New Brunswick Innovation Foundation, BDC Capital and East Valley Ventures.

Resson uses the drone application in agriculture and large scale cloud-based predictive analytics to optimize agricultural productivity, according to the company website.

Resson is currently expanding its product development and sales and marketing efforts, and adding staff to its technical development team in Fredericton while also opening a new business office in San Jose, Calif., says the company.
