Microsoft Signs Android Patent Agreements With Coby, Aluratek

Microsoft have signed patent agreements with Coby Electronics and Aluratek that provide broad coverage under Microsoft’s patent portfolio for products running the Android or Chrome Platform. Although the contents of the agreement have not been disclosed, the parties indicate that Microsoft will receive royalties from the companies under the agreement.

Since Microsoft launched its IP licensing program in December 2003, the company has entered into more than 1,100 licensing agreements.
