Luminate Raises $10.7M, Launches App Store

Luminate has raised $10.7 million in a Series C round led by Nokia Growth Partners.  Luminate’s mission is to reveal the information inside every image, and the company says it makes images more interactive.

Luminate is also launching an image app store.

Luminate (previously known as Pixazza) makes images interactive, and serves more than 150 million users each month and 30 billion image views per year, according to the company. Founded in 2008, Luminate was developed by technologists from Netscape and LiveOps, and is a private company, with headquarters in Mountain View, CA. Investors in Luminate include August Capital, CMEA Capital, Foundation Capital, Shasta Ventures, Nokia Growth Partners, and Google Ventures.
