Lexmark Awarded $21M FAA Contract

[Techtaffy Newsdesk]

Lexmark has been awarded a five-year (one base year and four one-year options) contract valued at $21 million that will make it the sole provider of printing technology for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Lexmark will be required to support the printing and scanning security requirements set forth by the federal government to protect confidential information. The FAA will be using Personal Identity Verification (PIV) cards to access print, copy, scan and fax features through Lexmark’s Print Release, a solution that is integrated into Lexmark’s smart workgroup printers and multifunction products (MFPs) for user authentication and data security.

The FAA will also be using Lexmark’s Markvision Enterprise fleet management tool, which is a Web-based remote management software that allows IT administrators to monitor printer fleets from a central location.
