John Flannery succeeds Jeff Immelt as chairman of GE

Jeffrey Immelt has retired as a director and chairman of General Electric’s board of directors. John Flannery, chief executive officer, director and chair-elect, was elected the new chairman.

Mr. Immelt has also retired as a director and chairman of the board of Baker Hughes, a GE company, and is succeeded by Lorenzo Simonelli.
