Intel, BCG collaboration to deliver enterprise-grade Generative AI

BCG x Intel

Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Intel are joining forces in a strategic collaboration to accelerate the adoption of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI).

The partnership’s primary offering is a tailor-made, enterprise-grade solution designed to meet the scaling and life-cycle management requirements of businesses. The central tenet of the solution is to ensure the confidentiality and security of private data within a trusted environment.

To accomplish this, BCG used Intel’s state-of-the-art AI supercomputer, which features Xeon processors and AI-optimized hardware accelerators known as Habana Gaudi. Further, Intel’s production-ready hybrid cloud-scale software powered a domain-specific foundation model trained on BCG’s proprietary data. The data employed to train the AI comprised more than half a century’s worth of BCG’s confidential and proprietary information, according to the companies.

BCG has also developed a custom natural language chatbot interface powered by Intel’s AI hardware and software. This interface allowed users to execute semantic searches that can retrieve and summarize information previously buried within lengthy, multi-page documents.

Compared to BCG’s existing keyword search tools, the new GenAI application reported substantial improvements in user satisfaction. Users reported a 41% increase in satisfaction, 25% growth in result relevancy, and a 39% increase in work completion rates, according to the companies.
