Intel appoints Kevin O’Buckley as SVP and GM of Foundry Services

Intel announced the appointment of Kevin O’Buckley as senior vice president and general manager of Foundry Services, the customer service and ecosystem operations division of Intel Foundry.

Mr. O’Buckley will report to Intel chief executive Pat Gelsinger as a member of Intel’s executive leadership team. He succeeds Stuart Pann, who will retire from Intel after 35 years of service at the end of May.

In his new role, Mr. O’Buckley will focus on growing Intel’s foundry business and expanding its ecosystem of intellectual property and electronic design automation partners, said Intel in a statement.

Mr. O’Buckley brings over 25 years of experience in the semiconductor industry to Intel. Before joining the company, he held senior positions at Marvell Technologies, Avera Semiconductor, Global Foundries, and IBM. He holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Alfred University and a Master of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Vermont.

Mr. Pann, who established Intel Foundry under the company’s new operating model, retires after 35 years of service at Intel. He previously served as senior vice president, chief business transformation officer, and general manager of Intel’s Corporate Planning group.

Intel Foundry brings together technology development, global manufacturing, and foundry customer service and ecosystem operations to provide fabless customers with the necessary components for designing and manufacturing chips for AI-driven computing.
