IEEE Has A New Digital Marketing And Communications Head

IEEE has added Rodney Spady as senior director, digital marketing and communications. Mr. Spady, who assumed this newly-created position on 6 February, will lead the teams responsible for managing the public face of IEEE. These areas include IEEE branding, corporate communications, public visibility initiatives, creative services, and social media.

Mr. Spady will play a key role in the strategic effort to raise the profile and manage the perception of the IEEE brand across global markets, the public, and other key audiences.

Before joining IEEE, Mr. Spady served as director of integrated marketing and media for Johnson and Johnson ‘s Global Marketing Group based out of New York City. Prior to his work at J&J, Mr. Spady was director of global digital marketing and chief Web officer for Novartis Consumer Health, Parsippany, N.J.

Mr. Spady’s experience also includes nearly 20 years in telecommunications marketing at companies including Lucent Technologies, Global Crossing, Interconnect Services Group, MCI Telecommunications, and NanoOpto Corporation.

Mr. Spady holds a bachelor’s degree in communications, with a specialty in advertising and public relations, from Seton Hall University, N.J.
