IBM to support $2.6B IRS IT modernization program

IBM, alongside three other companies, has been selected to aid in the Internal Revenue Services’ (IRS) seven-year Enterprise Development Operations Services (EDOS) contract, amounting to $2.6 billion.

The EDOS contract focuses on a substantial technology overhaul program for the IRS. Its main goals include the modernization of the existing IRS IT systems, enhancement of cybersecurity measures, extension of advanced analytics capabilities, and revamping of the fundamental infrastructure.

The EDOS program’s wide-ranging scope is planned to be delivered via individual task orders, an integral part of the IRS’s six-year Modernization Plan that was launched back in 2019.
