IBM partners with AWS to expand generative AI capabilities for enterprise

IBM has announced a partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS), aiming to upgrade existing solutions with generative AI technology to deliver value for enterprise clients.

As part of the collaboration, IBM Consulting will train 10,000 consultants on AWS generative AI services by the end of 2024. The two organizations also plan to deliver joint solutions and services upgraded with generative AI capabilities.

IBM Consulting and AWS plan to start with these specific solutions:

  • Contact Center Modernization: IBM Consulting and AWS will equip Amazon Connect with generative AI features. This will allow efficient transitions between chatbots and live agents while providing summarized details to speed up issue resolution, according to the companies.
  • Platform Services on AWS: Initially launched in November 2022, this service is set to include generative AI technology for better management of cloud operations such as IT Ops, automation, and platform engineering.
  • Supply Chain Ensemble: A virtual assistant, driven by generative AI, will be introduced to help supply chain professionals in optimizing inventory, reducing costs, and assessing risks.

Additionally, IBM Consulting plans to integrate AWS generative AI into its Consulting Cloud Accelerator to expedite cloud transformation processes, such as reverse engineering, code generation, and code conversion.
