IBM Enters Definitive Agreement To Buy Platform Computing

IBM announced  it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Platform Computing, a privately held company headquartered in Toronto, Canada.  The acquisition is anticipated to close in the fourth quarter of 2011, subject to the satisfaction of closing conditions. Financial terms were not disclosed. Platform Computing offers cluster and grid management software for distributed computing environments, and has 530 professionals working across ten global centers.
