IBM acquires StreamSets and webMethods for $2.30B

IBM announced a definitive agreement to purchase StreamSets and webMethods, enterprise technology platforms from Software AG, for €2.13 billion in cash (approximately $2.30 billion).

StreamSets, a DataOps and data ingestion platform, offers access and delivery of data across various sources and types. The platform supports the design of data pipelines and the ingestion of real-time and batch data.

WebMethods, on the other hand, is an integration and API management platform, providing solutions for B2B integration, managed file transfer, and API gateway management.

The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals. It is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2024, following a 20-year relationship between IBM and Software AG.

StreamSets and webMethods currently serve over 1,500 clients globally and are considered integral to IBM’s focus on hybrid cloud and AI solutions.
