IBM acquires financial technology company Armanta

IBM has acquired Armanta, a provider of aggregation and analytics software headquartered in Somerville, N.J.

Over the past two years, the companies have worked together to deliver financial risk solutions to clients globally. Armanta’s technology platform allows financial institutions to aggregate data across multiple systems in near real-time speed, says IBM. Armanta also provides the ability to visualize complex analyses and different “what-if” scenarios, according to IBM.

Post-acquisition, IBM says it has plans of integrating the Armanta business as part of the Watson Financial Services portfolio.
