Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has announced its plan to acquire Juniper Networks in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $14 billion. This acquisition is set to significantly expand HPE’s networking business, effectively doubling its size.
Upon completion of the transaction, Juniper CEO Rami Rahim will lead the combined HPE networking business, reporting to HPE President and CEO Antonio Neri.
J.P. Morgan and Qatalyst Partners are serving as financial advisors to HPE, with legal counsel provided by Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz; Covington & Burling; and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. Goldman Sachs is serving as the exclusive financial advisor to Juniper, with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom providing legal counsel.
The transaction is expected to close in late 2024 or early 2025, subject to regulatory approvals, approval from Juniper shareholders, and other customary closing conditions.
