Groupon Appoints Co-Founder Eric Lefkofsky CEO

Groupon has appointed Eric Lefkofsky as CEO, and Ted Leonsis as chairman of the board. Mr. Leftofsky is the co-founder of Groupon, and was appointed, along with Mr. Leonasis, to the Office of the Chief Executive, when the company’s then-CEO Andrew Mason, quit in February this year.

Mr. Lefkofsky, age 43, is co-founder and director of LightBank, a a venture fund focused on disruptive technology businesses. He is also a founder and director of several firms, including InnerWorkings, Echo Global Logistics, MediaBank.

Mr. Lefkofsky graduated from the University of Michigan and received his Juris Doctor at University of Michigan Law School.
