GPS Company Magellan Gets Into Digital Fitness

GPS company Magellan is getting into the digital fitness business with Switch and Switch Up, two crossover GPS watches that integrate with third party sites.

The Switch is a fitness training device that include customizable sport profiles, high resolution display, eight hours of battery life, a high sensitivity GPS receiver, 50 meter water resistance, and compatibility with ANT+ sensors. The Switch Up includes the functionalities of Switch, plus a barometric altimeter, among other things.

The Magellan GPS Switch series will be available Spring 2012. The Switch is expected to retail for $249.99 or $299.99 with Heart Rate Monitor. The Switch Up with a Multisport Mounting Kit will cost $299.99 or $349.99 with a Multisport Mounting Kit and Heart Rate Monitor.
