Google’s Answer To Siri, ‘Majel’ May Be Here

Google’s databases already have a copy of about everything on the Web for its Search. How much of a stretch would it be for the Mountain View giant to enable natural language querying, much like Apple’s Siri?

Taylor Wimberley of Android And Me, says he has received further details about Google’s project, codenamed ‘Majel’ (as in Majel Barrett-Roddenberry, the voice of the Federation computer from Star Trek, and we may have a launch sooner (Decmber-Februrary time frame) than later (sometime in the middle of next year).

Google acquired speech synthesis company Phonetic Arts last year, and is believed to have a world class speech team.
