Google unveiled four new prescription frames and two new sunglasses shades for Google Glass. The frames cost $225, while the shades are available for $150. This is on top of the $1,500 price tag of the Google Glass.
Google is collaborating with vision-care company VSP Global to offer prescription lenses and frames at a subsidized rate. VSP Global has a network of 30,000 eye doctors in the U.S. with about 60 million people enrolled in workplace and individual vision plans, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Available for early testers, Google Glass is expected to be available for the mass market later this year.
