Global Semiconductor Alliance Has Newly Elected Officials

Ralph Schmitt, president and chief executive officer of PLX Technology, is the newly elected semiconductor director of the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA).
Mr. Schmitt currently serves as the GSA Emerging Company CEO Council chairman.

This year, there were six positions available for election to GSA’s Board of Directors, including five semiconductor (fabless and IDM) positions and one value chain producer (VCP) position. Re-elected semiconductor directors include Danny Biran, senior vice president, corporate strategy, Altera; Mark Ireland, vice president, semiconductor platforms, IBM; Neil Kim, executive vice president, operations and central engineering, Broadcom; and Deborah Shoquist, executive vice president of operations, NVIDIA. Each will serve a three-year term. Jack Harding, chairman, president and chief executive officer of eSilicon was re-elected to represent the value chain producer (VCP) position for another two-year term. He also serves on the GSA Finance Committee.

GSA’s board is comprised of industry executives who are representative of the global regions in which GSA holds active memberships. The majority of the board members are selected by the Alliance’s voting members.
