Bitcoin is now officially currency in Germany. The government is recognizing Bitcoin as a ‘unit of account’, giving the digital currency legitimacy as ‘private money.’ According to a report in the Frankfurter Allgemeine by Franz Nestler, Bitcoin creators or users in Germany will be subject to taxes as well.
