General Motors, GlobalFoundries ink deal for U.S.-made chips

General Motors (GM) has signed a long-term agreement with GlobalFoundries (GF), for U.S.-made chips. Under the terms of the agreement, the chipmaker will have a dedicated production capacity of chips for GM, the companies announced Thursday.

GF will manufacture for GM’s key chip suppliers at GF’s upstate New York facilities, the companies said in a statement.
