Cloud contact center software company Five9 has appointed Anand Chandrasekaran as EVP of Product Management.

Mr. Chandrasekaran, who most recently was a director at Facebook focused on the Messenger Platform, will oversee the strategy, roadmap and lifecycle of the Five9 product portfolio, the company said in a statement. He will report to CEO Rowan Trollope, and be based at the company’s headquarters in San Ramon, Calif.

Previous to Facebook, Mr. Chandrasekaran was CPO at Snapdeal, an Indian e-commerce company with current annual gross sales exceeding $9 billion, and Bharti Airtel, one of the world’s largest mobile network operators with almost 300 million subscribers. He was also the co-founder of mobile IT service management company Aeroprise.

Mr. Chandrasekaran holds a bachelor’s in communications engineering from PSG College of Technology in India, and a master’s in electrical engineering from Stanford University.
