Head of product for Facebook for Android, Bubba Murarka, has joined Draper Fisher Jurvetson, as general partner and managing director.
Since 2008, Mr. Murarka has held positions at Facebook, as business development leads. Most recently he was head of product for Facebook for Android where he started the Facebook Home project.
Mr. Murarka will identify new investment opportunities and will bring his more than ten years of product development and business to experience DFJ’s existing portfolio companies. At DFJ, Mr. Murarka will focus primarily on early-stage consumer Internet and mobile companies. He will also assist companies across the portfolio with their growth and product strategies.
Prior to Facebook, Mr. Murarka spent seven years in technical and product roles at Microsoft. While there, he acted as group program manager for Bing’s Bay Area development team. He started his career at Microsoft in Seattle.
Mr. Murarka has served an adviser and an angel investor to more than ten companies in the consumer mobile and online education sectors since 2008.
