Facebook Officially Opens Door For Minors

facebookFacebook recently changed its privacy settings to allow minors, children between the age of 13 and 17 years, the option of posting publicly on the social network. In addition, teens will be able to turn on Follow so that their public posts can be seen in people’s News Feeds.

The move is likely aimed to gather new advertising targeted towards the teen audience. While Facebook’s site policy does not allow children under thirteen to create a Facebook account without adult supervision, there is no way to actually verify age.
