Facebook Gives Users Free AntiVirus Software Downloads

[Techtaffy Newsdesk]

Facebook is giving out free antivirus to its users. Its launched the Facebook AV Marketplace, that lets users select a free download from Microsoft, McAfee, TrendMicro, Sophos, or Symantec. Users can download six-month licenses to full versions of anti-virus software at no charge, and not just Facebook users in the United States.

You will also be additionally protected by the combined intelligence of these companies, says the social networking behemoth. Its URL blacklist system, which scans trillions of clicks per day, will now incorporate the malicious URL databases from these security companies.
