F5 has announced the appointment of Samir Sherif as the company’s new senior vice president and chief information security officer (CISO).
Mr. Sherif will be responsible for leading the company’s cybersecurity strategy and enhancing its security culture in his new role, according to a statement from F5. His role also includes advancing F5’s security capabilities, managing cybersecurity standards and programs for the company’s products and services.
Mr. Sherif previously served as CISO at Absolute Software and Imperva. He was also the global Head of Application Security at Citigroup.
Mr. Sherif succeeds Gail Coury, who will retire on March 1 after a three-year tenure leading F5’s enterprise security.
