Elastic introduces new Elasticsearch Query Language

Elastic, the company behind Elasticsearch, has announced the introduction of Elasticsearch Query Language (ES|QL), a new query language aimed at improving data analysis and investigation.

ES|QL is designed to handle concurrent processing, enabling more efficient data aggregation and analysis across various data sources through a single query.

Key features of Elasticsearch Query Language include:

  • An iterative approach to data investigation, facilitated by the ES|QL piped query syntax.
  • A new ES|QL query engine that enhances speed and efficiency, capable of handling data from diverse sources and structures through concurrent processing.
  • A unified user interface for observability and security workflows, allowing users to search, aggregate, and visualize data on a single screen.

Currently available in a technical preview, ES|QL is scheduled for general release in 2024.
