DISA awards $170 million processor capacity IDIQ contract to ViON

ViON, a cloud service provider, has been awarded an indefinite-delivery/indefinite–quantity (IDIQ), firm-fixed–price-contract for processor capacity services by the Department of Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). The contract is for five years with five one-year options years and has a contract ceiling of $170,898,096. Under terms of the agreement, ViON will deliver System P chip sets to DISA facilities or other locations where the agency may assume an operational responsibility.

DISA will be using IBM Power Systems scale-out servers. DISA’s goal with this contract is to obtain a dynamically scalable processing capability utilizing an on-demand service approach that will readily adjust to changes in processing and throughput requirements – both increases and decreases – and is priced on a utility (“as used”) basis, said ViON in a statement.
