Dell-EMC Will Have A New Name, Identity

Dell chairman and CEO Michael Dell revealed the new identities that will follow when the company’s acquisition of EMC is complete. The announcement was sent out as an email to the Dell global team, a copy of which was filed with the SEC. EMC was acquired by Dell in October last year, for a sticker price of $67 billion, and what was the largest billion dollar deal in tech history.

The combined family of business with Dell and EMC will be called Dell Technologies. Dell Technologies will comprise the combined enterprise infrastructure businesses of Dell and EMC, the PC business and affiliated businesses including VMware, SecureWorks, Pivotal, Virtustream and RSA. The enterprise business of the two companies will be clubbed together under the Dell EMC umbrella. This will include products and solutions sold directly and through the channel to business and institutional customers. Dell will be the name and sub-brand for the company’s client solutions for consumers, business and institutional customers.

The Dell-EMC integration team is currently working on the visual identity for the new company and its sub-brands, according to a statement released by EMC.
