Contentful raises $33.5 million

Berlin-based Contentful, a content infrastructure provider, has raised $33.5 million in Series D equity funding. The investment was led by Sapphire Ventures, with participation from OMERS Ventures, and Salesforce Ventures. Existing investors including General Catalyst, Benchmark, Balderton Capital and Hercules, also participated in the round.

Contentful has raised $78.3 million to date. The company’s customers include Spotify, Urban Outfitters, Red Bull, Jack in the Box, the British Museum, Xoom, and Lenovo, according to its corporate website.
