Comcast Promotes Cathy Avgiris As Data and Communications Leader

Cathy Avgiris has been promoted to executive vice president and general manager of the Data and Communications group within Comcast. A nearly twenty-year veteran of Comcast, Ms. Avgiris leads all aspects of the Company’s Xfinity Internet and Xfinity Voice services, including the company’s Internet Essentials program, which provides low-cost Internet service to low-income families. In addition, she is responsible for introducing the new Double and Triple Play consumer offers with Verizon Wireless as well as for Comcast’s Wi-Fi service. She reports to Dave Watson, executive vice president and chief operating officer, Comcast Cable.

Ms. Avgiris is a member of the Forum for Executive Women and is a graduate of Baruch College. She holds a B.A. in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant in New York and Pennsylvania.
