Cogito raises $15M

DARPA-funded artificial intelligence company Cogito has raised a $15 million Series B round. The investment was led by OpenView, with participation from existing investors Romulus Capital and Salesforce Ventures. Scott Maxwell, founder and managing partner of OpenView, has joined the company’s board.

Cogito says it combines behavioral science and artificial intelligence to detect emotional state, and determine if a person’s mood has changed in real time. The company offers solutions for customer support and sales.
