Cloud Software Group commits $1.65B to Microsoft Cloud and AI

Cloud Software Group, a consortium of companies including Tibco, Citrix, NetScaler, have committed $1.65 billion to Microsoft for cloud and its generative AI capabilities, as part of an eight-year strategic partnership agreement. Cloud Software Group will transition all its employees to Microsoft 365.

The agreement aims to strengthen the collaboration between Cloud Software Group and Microsoft for the Citrix virtual application and desktop platform, as well as support the development of new cloud and AI solutions with an integrated product roadmap; the companies said in a statement.

Under the partnership, Citrix, a business unit of Cloud Software Group, will be the preferred Microsoft Global Azure Partner solution for Enterprise Desktop as a Service when collaborating with joint Azure customers. The companies will support customer success and offer solutions, guidance, and support to accelerate customers’ cloud journeys.

As part of the collaboration, Citrix will use Microsoft Azure as its preferred cloud solution, complemented by Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365. The collaboration will also create options for procurement through Azure Marketplace, where customers can evaluate, expand, or renew Citrix solutions.
