Cisco To Provide Emergency Response Help To The UN

[Techtaffy Newsdesk]

Cisco and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) have reached an agreement that will allow any United Nations (UN) organization to access Cisco’s networking technology solutions for emergency communications assistance during UN disaster relief missions.

This agreement is the first of its kind for Cisco with the United Nations. Operating under a joint Memorandum of Understanding, the two organizations will be able to better collaborate in terms of crisis preparedness, disaster response and technical coordination, says Cisco.

Cisco has similar partnerships with a number of nonprofit organizations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) where it provides resources and services that enhance each organization’s mission capabilities.
