Cisco Promotes Key Executives

Cisco has made two key executive appointments, promoting Gary B. Moore to president and chief operating officer, and Rob Lloyd as head of Development and Sales. The appointments are part of a larger organization restructuring.

Gary B. Moore, is now the president and COO of Cisco.  Mr. Moore is accountable for Cisco’s end-to-end operations, and will continue to drive alignment across all parts of the company.  He is also responsible for Cisco’s operations, services, IT, supply chain, marketing and communications, human resources, corporate affairs, transformation office, legal, government affairs, and corporate planning functions. Previously Mr. Moore led Cisco Services, a division with 10,000 employees. He joined Cisco in 2001 from network consulting company Netigy, where he was CEO.

Rob Lloyd has been appointed president of Cisco’s Development and Sales. Mr. Lloyd is also a member of the Cisco Executive Committee, which sets strategic direction for each of Cisco’s market segments. With more than 17 years of global leadership experience at Cisco, Mr. Lloyd has managed the majority of Cisco’s worldwide business. Prior to his current role, he held the positions of executive vice president, Worldwide Operations and senior vice president, U.S., Canada and Japan.  Mr. Lloyd also served as president of Cisco’s Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region for more than four years. He joined Cisco in 1994 as general manager of Cisco’s Canadian subsidiary.

In other developments: Pankaj Patel, executive vice president and chief development officer, will continue to lead Cisco’s development organization. Chuck Robbins, who previously ran the Americas sales region, will assume Mr. Lloyd’s prior role as the head of worldwide sales. Wim Elfrink, executive vice president and chief globalization officer, will continue his focus on emerging solutions and the development of new markets, and will integrate his organization into the development and sales organization.  Each of them will be reporting to Mr. Lloyd.

The remainder of Cisco’s executive leadership team remains unchanged.
