Cisco Launches New Telepresence Offerings

Cisco Telepresence was launched five years ago. The company is  now expanding its services, and extending it to any device (think telepresence from a tablet of your choice, or the desktop), among other things. The new services will be available in the first quarter of 2012.

Cisco Jabber: A standards-based, HD video-calling software application that lers users join telePresence calls from their desktop PCs, laptops or tablets. A global beta program for Cisco Jabber Video for TelePresence is targeted for the first quarter of 2012.

Cisco TelePresence MX300: A multi-purpose, room-based telePresence that can be set up in as little as 15 minutes quickly, turning any small to medium-sized meeting room into a nine-person telepresence meeting. The system offers 1080p, 30 frames per second, high-quality video. Global availability is targeted for the first quarter of 2012.

Cisco TelePresence VX: A purpose-built, mobile telemedicine cart designed for use in healthcare settings. Global availability is targeted for the first quarter of 2012.

Cisco also launched a $99/month unlimited telepresence for small businesses.
