Gary Moore, Cisco’s executive vice president and chief operating officer, has appointed Edzard Overbeek to head the company’s Global Services Business. Jaime Vallés, currently senior vice president for Cisco’s Latin America theater, will be taking over from Mr. Overbeek as the leader of Cisco’s Asia Pacific, Japan and Greater China (APJC) region. Mr. Vallés will assume the position with effect of August 1, 2012 and will be based in Singapore. He will partner closely with Owen Chan, who will continue to lead the Cisco business in Greater China.

Mr. Vallés joined Cisco back in 2007. He brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in the IT industry, having previously served in senior leadership positions at Sun Microsystems and IBM.

Latin America continues to be an important growth driver in the Americas sales region, says Cisco. The company is expected to announce a new leader for the LatAm soon.
