Cadence has unveiled Voltus InsightAI, an artificial intelligence (AI) tool aimed at improving power integrity in semiconductor design.
Power integrity is a major design challenge at advanced nodes, with designers regularly facing a significant number of EM-IR violations at signoff. Voltus InsightAI is designed to pinpoint and rectify electromigration (EM) and voltage (IR) drop issues within the design phase, potentially doubling productivity in EM-IR closure, says Cadence. It automatically identifies the root cause of EM-IR drop violations early in the design process and selects and implements the most efficient fixes to improve power, performance, and area (PPA).
Voltus InsightAI applies generative AI to detect root causes of EM-IR violations early on, enabling designers to address up to 95% of these issues before the final signoff, per Cadence.
