BMW to use Hitachi’s virtual storage platform

Hitachi Vantara, a subsidiary of Hitachi, has been selected by BMW as a key strategic partner in enterprise cloud storage and data management for the next six years.

As part of the agreement, BMW will use Hitachi’s Virtual Storage Platform (VSP) 5600 enterprise storage arrays, the companies said in a statement.

Hitachi Vantara has been supporting BMW Group since 2012, according to Hitachi The agreement covers ten countries including Germany, U.S., China, Japan and the U.K.
