Barracuda co-founder and CMO steps down; Erin Hintz to lead marketing

Barracuda Networks’ co-founder and chief marketing officer/executive vice president Michael Perone is stepping down as CMO, says the company. Erin Hintz, most recently CMO at Urban Airship, will be taking over as the new chief marketing officer and senior vice president. Mr. Perone will remain on the company’s board.

Ms. Hintz was most recently CMO at Urban Airship. Prior to that, she was vice president and general manager of global marketing and e-commerce for the Citrix SaaS division. Prior to Citrix, she led the worldwide marketing organization of Symantec’s Norton consumer business.

Mr. Perone said in a statement he wants to focus his time on building 345 Partners, a new venture fund which he recently co-founded.
