Baidu Forms Autonomous Vehicle Team In Valley

Chinese search giant Baidu has formed a self-driving car team in Silicon Valley, says the company. The team will focus on research, development and testing, and will be part of its newly-created Autonomous Driving Unit (ADU). Baidu plans to grow the team to over 100 researchers and engineers by the end of the year. “Baidu is fully committed to making self-driving cars a reality,” says Jing Wang, SVP of Baidu and general manager of the company’s Autonomous Driving Unit.  The Silicon Valley team, known as ADU-US, will work alongside Baidu’s existing Silicon Valley-based teams, including Baidu Research.
