AWS launches service to move mainframe workloads to the cloud

Amazon Web Services have announced the general availability of AWS Mainframe Modernization. Mainframe Modernization lets users move mainframe-based workloads to the cloud.

Customers can refactor their mainframe workloads to run on AWS by transforming mainframe-based applications into modern cloud services, says Amazon.   Customers can also keep their applications as written and replatform their workloads to AWS by reusing existing code. The service has a managed runtime environment and allows for automation.

TCS, Infosys, and CGI are using Mainframe Modernization, said Amazon in a statement.
