AT&T Shuffles Key Senior Executive Ranks

AT&T has reshuffled its executive ranks. The telecom giant has created a new position of group president and Chief Strategy Officer, putting John Stankey in charge. Mr. Stankey, who has led nearly every major AT&T business unit during his 27-year career, will be responsible for corporate development, addressing long-term wireless-capacity needs, capital allocation strategies and identifying the best strategic paths for low-growth and non-strategic assets.

Ralph de la Vega has been named president and CEO of AT&T Mobility. He will focus on smartphones, among other things.

Andy Geisse has been named senior executive vice president-AT&T Business and Home Solutions. Mr. Geisse will also lead the Home Solutions team focused on U-verse, broadband and voice services for AT&T’s 22-state local wireline operations.

John Donovan is now senior executive vice president-AT&T Technology and Network Operations. Mr. Donovan will be responsible for AT&T’s technology and network operations.
